Both registered clinical counsellors (RCCs) and psychologists can be a great support in your wellness journey.
ONLY psychologists can make a diagnosis (anxiety, depression, PTSD, etc.), which may help if the issues you are facing are work-related.

Research a therapist to find one that is a good fit for you:
Consider virtual appointments – there are more therapists to choose from, there’s no travel time or parking issues, and you can engage in counselling from anywhere you want via your computer or cell phone. An alert and engaged therapist will pick up on emotions and body language, regardless of whether your sessions are in person or virtual.
Mental health and therapy is deeply personal, so if after the first two or three appointments you feel your needs are not being met, find a new one.
Get your questions lined up before you call to make your first appointment:
Once you know their availability, book an appointment – even if it is a few months away. If you call and get voicemail, they may be in a session – leave a message detailing why you are calling.
